In an article by Jan Omdahl,  about the vinyl revival (and the death of the CD),  in the Norwegian newpaper Dagbladet today, Øystein is asked to comment on what he thinks is the reason music lovers prefer music on vinyl. The answer, roughly translated to english:

“It’s impossible, technically, to explain why so many music lovers prefer vinyl. I went to visit the mastering studio of Bernie Grundman in L.A., where they had recorded a live jazzband to all kinds of competitive media. 96k digital, analogue tape, cd .. and vinyl. Thereafter they did a blind test when listening to the different versions…. and even the cleaning lady agreed that vinyl sounded the best… So the only thing you really can conclude on, is that human ears likes the sound of music on vinyl.”
