Christmas came early this year! Warner Music Norway issued a press release with some very good news for all hardcore Bigbang fans!

First of all: Edendale officially reached platinum status after 5 weeks on sale.

Edendale platinum record - 30.000 sold copies in Norway

Norwegian platinum means 30.000 sold copies. A great achievement in its own, and the sales are still going strong! Would be exciting to see it hit double platinum and with the current sales rate, who knows… Congratulations to all the team behind the record, it’s well deserved!

The press release also gives some more details about the DVD. This summers concerts @ Norwegian Wood in Oslo, and @ Slottsfjellfestival in Tønsberg will be filmed, and will make the base for a brand new concert movie DVD expected to be released in November, just in time for the Christmas sales. As we mentioned before, they will also bring some friends and favorites on stage. . Earlier it have been mentioned that the band also filmed when warming up for The Raconteurs @ Brixton, London, aswell as recording of the new record. With the amount of material the DVD should be a real treat for the average fan. Maybe it is so much content that they have to divide it on several DVD’s .. or even better; Put it out in HD quality on Bluray :)

RRTS - The first and only Bigbang DVD will get its sequel in November!

Then the exciting surprise. All the earlier Bigbang albums will be released on vinyl together with the new DVD release in November! This means “Waxed, Electric Psalmbook, Frontside Rock & Roll, Radio Radio TV Sleep, Poetic Terrorism & Too Much Yang” finally get their well deserved vinyl release. It might also include the “Something Special – Best Of”, but not specific mentioned. No mention about a re-release of Clouds Rolling By on vinyl either, but it would not surprise us. Who knows, maybe they even decide to put out their EPs. The 10 year anniversary for the original record deal with Warner seems to bring lots of exciting news, 2009 is a Bigbang year for sure!

For the German Bigbang fans i’m also happy to announce that the band have a plan for a German tour in September. This means you finally will get your chance to see them playing the new songs live, and to bring more friends along to discover the Bigbang magic!
